A fleeting visit to Phuket

Today we got up nice and early and caught the ferry from Noppatharat Thara marina to Phuket. The ferry was 400thb each which got us transfers on both sides and return tickets back to Ao Nang. The ferry is quite simple and took about 2 and a half hours to get to Phuket. We had booked ahead on booking.com for a couple nights in the G&B guesthouse, Patong.

By the time we arrived in the guesthouse which was tucked away just off one of the main roads, we were very hungry and found a Thai-Italian restaurant (the name of which completely escapes me). I had a Thai Yellow Chicken curry and it was quite simply the nicest curry ive ever eaten. The lady and her daughter who were running the restaurant were really friendly and full of smiles.

We went back to the room for some sleep as we had a big day planned for the next day. Something we had wanted to do for years and finally we got to do it…. but thats for the next post 😊.

If you ever stay in a guesthouse in Thailand please dont make the same mistake I did by trying to save a few quid and opting to have a room without A/C.

 I didnt sleep a wink.

Just before sunrise you could hear the monks chanting in the temple nearby before they made their way through the streets.

I went out to the balcony to listen to them in awe while Sam slept
